Ensemble

The IEM Computer Music Ensemble (ICE) is a group of electronic musicians specialized in playing with computer music instruments such as computers, DIY instruments, extended hyper instruments or simulations of real instruments. The goal is to perform contemporary music adapted or written for computer music ensembles, but also to interpret historical ensemble music with virtual instruments. They play with a spatial audio system, especially Ambisonics systems, where they perform in small or large concert halls or open environments.

The ICE IEM Computer Music Ensemble performs in a common data room and uses streaming AOO, which is then rendered in real concert halls. Special compositions and improvisation performances are developed and explored in concerts within this lecture.
